C7 GT3/R

”The most beautiful car we have ever built."

Corvette C7 Gt3/R

The new Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R, constructed by Callaway Competition of Leingarten Germany, sets new standards in the league of GT3 race cars and should, as its predecessor C6-based model, become a worldwide sensation in GT3.

The development of the vehicle began in mid-2014 on CAD, with technically-relevant parts developed by Mike Gramke and Uwe Hoffmann. The body and dashboard were CAD-designed by Paul Deutschman, Callaway’s designer of over 30 years, of Montreal, Canada. Design details were finalized via international telephone. At the end of 2014, the vehicle design was established and, in the spring of 2015, vehicle construction was started in Leingarten.

After Callaway Competition provided data, customers and suppliers milled forms for the body parts. The carbon parts from these forms were chiefly manufactured in Leingarten, with some produced by friendly firms.

The only stock components retained from the Corvette C7 are the chassis, which is reinforced with the roll cage, the lower control arms, the upper half of the rear bumper, and the tail lights. The engine was carried over from its predecessor with minor changes. All other parts were newly developed and manufactured, with the major part of the technical components from aluminum and carbon fiber hand-built in Leingarten.

The front spoiler, diffuser and rear wing aerodynamic parts were of aerodynamic core (Paul Schreiber and Alex Koppe) are developed and implemented in CAD. The shape and the profile of the rear wing corresponds to all the latest developments and offers a high level of innovation.

Business owners, Giovanni Ciccone and Ernst Wöhr, put a great deal of sweat and blood and all their experience of the last ten years in the construction of the Corvette C7 GT3-R.
